Riding in Aid of a great cause is a great motivator – Jenny and Linda riding in Aid of Help for Heroes around France!

This time last year a dear friend Linda Walton and I with trepidation cycled off from home near Stockbridge to our shared holiday home in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Off we set, both built more for comfort than speed with 2 bikes, 4 panniers, 1 tent, maps and a corkscrew! There were so many magic moments of which highlights were crossing the terrifying bridge at Nantes, followed by the first sight of sunflower fields, and overtaking some French lads up the Black mountains, albeit that they had flip flops on and a bottle of whiskey in their drinks cage!

The sense of wellbeing and time for reflection, along with the adventures, giggles and fabulous hospitality along the way completely exceeded our expectations. So many uplifting moments even when our unruly satnav ”Bing” had a mind of its own and tested our map skills while it took us up some mountain bike trails!

With Bike week earlier in June and the Tour de France getting under way it is an opportunity to get out of the car and onto a bike and hopefully share some of the magic. The benefits are huge: less stress, see the blossoming countryside, the feeling of wellbeing, confidence and resulting increase in fitness. And cycling to work is an easy way to slip some fitness into your day and save money.

At Sarum Physio the team can help with bike fit, body MOT, training programmes, shoes and equipment stretches, training tips, cycling posture or just treat ANY temperamental niggles that may be holding YOU back.
