Biomechanics
Biomechanics is all part of the service here at Sarum because you are only as fit as your feet and legs.
Adults and children of all ages – especially active types and runners – can benefit, and biomechanics analysis can play a role in injury prevention. It can improve the performance of athletes and help children who suffer aches and pains aggravated by sporting activities.
There is often no indication or recollection of a specific injury however, it may be a long-standing or recurrent problem. By using biomechanics, we can work out what’s going on and ‘prescribe’ the right treatment. For example, rectifying leg/foot alignment and restoring normal function through corrective orthotics, footwear advice, specific exercises or a combination of these.
Biomechanics can help with:
- Knee, ankle, foot, hip or lower back pain
- Recurrent ankle spraining
- Shin splints
- Plantar fasciitis
- Growing-pain related symptoms
- Flat feet
- Leg length difference
