Spooks and Creaks – Pains and Shrieks

Spooks and Creaks - Pains and Shrieks. Yes, it's a Halloween themed blog this month, giving me a chance to talk about all things bonkers, I mean conkers. You see, Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year. The colours are gorgeous, the falling leaves stunning, and yes, collecting conkers - I love it. Catching [...]

Home working can be a right pain in the neck

Working from home can be a right pain in the neck, back and wrists. It can create a ball of pain in the shoulders, and you’ve had enough. In the last few blogs, I've shared exercises for the golfer, runner and tennis player but on our Facebook page, we had a request for the home [...]

Paralympics for more inspiration

Paralympics for more inspiration; yes, if the Olympics wasn’t enough, the Paralympics has started. First, I want to take a moment to touch on the fantastic event that was the Olympics 2020. This year showing inclusivity with new events and participants as young as twelve and thirteen taking part. Not forgetting Phillip Dutton (57), the [...]

Running is good for the soul

Running is good for the soul. It is you pounding the streets or running in the park – mind in neutral and being at one with the outside environment. Space for no thought or letting your thoughts wander. It is smiling at the couple walking their dog or waving at the children on the swings. [...]

Tennis, strawberries, cream and Pimms

Tennis, strawberries and cream and the all-important Pimms. Although obviously at Sarum we’re not seeing injuries from too many strawberries or Pimms, we are seeing tennis injuries. So, with Wimbledon just around the corner, this blog will focus on the game of white shorts and yellow balls. And here is the reason we are seeing [...]

Golfers are back in the swing of it

Golfers are back in the swing of it. In fact, we’re all getting out and about and back to the sports we love. Springing into action and taking advantage of restrictions lifting – it’s wonderful, isn’t it? But at Sarum, we’ve noticed injuries being presented because a little more exuberance has been shown than was [...]

Spring into action and into the ‘new’ normal

Are you ready for a reboot, to shed your winter skin (and coat) and embrace the warmer weather? Okay, the weather is rather changeable at the moment and you’re probably unsure from one day to the next what to wear BUT spring is here. Meaning you might want to get back into a rhythm or [...]

Why is more important than how

Why you want to do something is way more important than how. Let me explain. At times in your life, because of personal events, something that jumps out at you from your Facebook feed or you see on television, you make a decision. That might be to live a healthier life, take better care of [...]

The month of love (the perfect time to love yourself)

February is the month of love and the perfect time to love yourself because you should. You’ve most likely heard the phrase ‘be kind to yourself’ many times and especially during 2020. Trouble is it’s not always easy to follow the advice and let’s be honest last year was anything but normal. The year we [...]

Twenty twenty-one didn’t start with a bang

In the UK, twenty twenty-one began in lockdown and was not the beginning we had imagined. There were no parties, no dancing into the night and even the TV schedule on New Year’s Eve lacked sparkle. Limping across the line we moved from one crazy year into the next and YET I feel hopeful. Here [...]
