Movement, fun, and stepping outside the comfort zone – we are celebrating our 31st birthday.

Birthdays are not just about cake. They are the perfect time to reflect on the journey while embracing the adventures yet to come. They remind me of growth and change and allow me to reflect (while eating cake, obviously!).

The Fabulous Journey of Sarum Physio

Sarum Physio has been the cornerstone of my life—the constant. Every day, I get to hang out with the fantastic team I work with, a team. In a place filled with passion and dedication. Together with our incredible clients, we have created an environment that feels like a second family. Through shared experiences, challenges, and triumphs, lifelong friendships have been formed.

You see, Sarum Physio isn’t just about healing bodies. It’s about building connections, fostering community, and being a place where staff and clients feel supported and inspired.

The Magic of Trying Something New

There is always a new adventure at Sarum, and we’ve had to overcome many challenges over the years. But pushing beyond the familiar and embracing the challenges is where the magic happens for us, and the same is true for you, whether you take up a new sport, challenge yourself with a fitness goal, or try an activity you never thought was your thing.

Stepping out of your comfort zone boosts your physical and mental well-being, increases resilience, and improves confidence. At the same time, it keeps life fun and exciting.

A Glimpse into My Life Beyond Physiotherapy

I love what I do, the Sarum team, and the difference we make together to the lives of our clients. But, believe it or not, I’m not just a physio. I am also a wife, mother, granny, dog mummy, and actor! And I hope you said ‘actor’ in a loud and suitable thespian voice!

Only last month, I was strutting my stuff on the stage, my face painted green, and having a ball in a local panto! “On no you weren’t – oh yes I was!”

Doing something unrelated to the ‘day job’ keeps the creative juices flowing and the energy up. It is a way of staying active and engaged, nourishing the soul, and living for the moment.

Balancing my professional expertise in physiotherapy with my passion for the performing arts has been an incredible journey. My time on the stage, outside my comfort zone, reminds me of the importance of fun, laughter, and embracing new experiences. It is movement in another way.

The Importance of Movement

Of course, you know that movement is essential and good for your overall well-being. But what is often forgotten is that even small actions, like a simple stretch at your desk, can significantly affect how you feel throughout the day. I encourage you to find moments in your day to get your body moving—a shimmy on the kitchen dance floor, an evening stroll, or trying out a new activity to get your heart pumping.

Movement isn’t just about exercise; it’s about celebrating what your body can do and refreshing your mind.

Well-being Beyond the Norm

Sports and physical activity aren’t just for athletes and professionals but for everyone at every stage of life. Although… sometimes we need a little more help and support as we age disgracefully, or is that just me with my wig and green face? 😆

Engaging in new activities keeps the body agile and the mind sharp. But it’s not about perfection; it’s about participation. Trying something new can be as simple as joining a dance class, hiking a new trail, joining the circus or being in the local panto!
