Trichology is the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the human hair and scalp and can affect both men and women.
While it’s normal to lose between fifty and one hundred hairs a day without even noticing. It can be the result of illness and extremely distressing. Some forms of hair loss are permanent such as the pattern of baldness. While others are temporary and may have been caused by stress or cancer treatment.
No matter the trigger hair loss can be very upsetting and this is because hair is an important part of who we are.
At Sarum Physio, we work in association with Dr John Gray who is our resident Tricologist and joined the team in 2018.
John offers clinical and diagnostic analysis of hair and scalp disorders. He has published many books on hair disorders and has a special interest in cosmetic problems.
You don’t have to have a hair problem to consult a trichologist: many people choose to do so because they want advice on keeping their hair and scalp in tip top condition and therefore reduce the risk of hair loss.
